338. Pearson VS Spearman Correlation

Pearson Correlation

Evaluates the linear relationship between 2 variables. Ranges from -1(When the value of one variable increases while the other decreases) to 1(When the value of one variable increases while the other increases as well).

Spearman Rank-Order Correlation

Evaluates the monotonic(Whether the value is constantly increasing or decreasing) relationship between 2 continuous or ordinal variables. Ranges from -1 to 1 as well.
For Example, this can be useful when you want to evaluate whether the order in which the students finish a test is related to their performance.
