- The basic workflow of a habit is the following:
CUE ⇒ ROUTINE ⇒ REWARD ⇒ CUE - We can’t distinguish between GOOD and BAD habits.
- By understanding the CUE and REWARD, we can do something about our ROUTINE
- Cravings DRIVES CUE
- The Golden Rule: Instead of extinguishing the CUE and ROUTINE, replace it with a better ROUTINE
- The more you can delay your rewards, the more likely you’ll be able to regulate your impulse
- Consistency Creates CUE
