AI is everywhere. Even for programming tools.
There are some languages, where you only have to write the explanation, and the AI will figure out the code for you.
Do we need programmers in the future??
Going straight to the conclusion, Yes we still do.
There is this concept called, “INTELLIGENCE EXPLOSION” introduced in the book [LIFE 3.0] by Max Tegmark, where an AGI( Artificial “General” Intelligence: an AI that is not objective-specific) keeps on creating a more intelligent version of themselves, eventually to a level where there is no way a human can possibly compete. As long as this INTELLIGENCE EXPLOSION doesn’t happen, we’ll be needing people to fix bugs,or create something new.
